Water Treatment Facility Funding Announcement (2017 Update)

Good day

We have been receiving inquiries about the signage that has gone up at the bottom of M Branch which advertises the Water Treatment Plant Project announced last year. To refresh everyone’s recollection, here is a summary of the original public release.

Village of Sayward receives federal Gas Tax Fund contribution for the Village of Sayward Water Treatment Facility.

February 12, 2016  – Sayward, BC

The Village of Sayward is extremely happy to announce that it will be receiving a federal Gas Tax Fund contribution for its new water treatment facility.

The addition of a water treatment facility, complete with filtration and a new water storage reservoir will enable the Village of Sayward to comply with the Health Authority’s surface water treatment objectives and provide safe drinking water to the community well into the future.

Pilot testing of the various water treatment options will begin in early spring, followed by detailed project design and then construction. It is anticipated that construction of the water treatment facility will commence in the fall of 2016.
