The Village of Sayward is pleased to announce the hiring of Ann MacDonald as its new Chief Administrative Officer. Norm Kirschner, acting Mayor of the Village of Sayward, said the Village is very happy to welcome Ann aboard.

Ann brings a wealth of experience as a planner, administrator, policy director, facilitator and mediator and we are happy to have her join us,” said acting Mayor Kirschner.

Most recently, following a long career with the Yukon Government, Ann served as the General Manager of Planning and Development with the Comox Valley Regional District, and as Manager of Planning with the Regional District of Mount Waddington before that. She spent decades with the Yukon Government and also worked as the administrator for a Yukon self-governing First Nation. She holds a master’s degree from UBC in Community and Regional Planning, mediation certification from the Justice Institute of BC, and she brings decades of experience in public service.

Ann said she is excited about working with the people of Sayward and is looking forward to being in the beautiful Sayward Valley.

Taking on this role of CAO for the Village of Sayward is a wonderful opportunity for me to serve the residents of the Village of Sayward and to spend time in yet another beautiful part of Vancouver Island,” MacDonald said.

I am a big fan of public service, the work that we all chip in to have done to take care of each other in ways we cannot do alone. I really enjoy being part of a productive, forward moving team and I look forward to serving the people of Sayward.”

Ann takes over the CAO position on November 30, the day before the new Mayor and two Councillors will be sworn in.
