The Village of Sayward is firmly committed to supporting the development of tourism in the Village and Valley. In early 2015, Council established a Tourism Committee to:
- Identify and provide recommendations on opportunities to improve tourism services;
- Increase the number of tourism-related overnight stays;
- Create an attractive investment environment for all tourism stakeholders; and
- Serve as support for the region’s tourism services.
Members of the committee include the Mayor and a Council representative, tourism operators, the Harbour Authority, Sayward Futures Society, and local residents. The Committee is spearheading the development of tourism, recognizing that it is an important economic driver for the region.
