Recreation & Culture
The Village of Sayward has many traditions and a growing number of recreational opportunities. Many groups and individuals give of their time and talents to hold events throughout the year.
One of the venues for recreation and cultural events is the Kelsey Recreation Centre. The staff and volunteers are working deligently to provide activities for people of all ages. From toddlers to teens, adults to seniors, the Centre has programs, activities, equipment, and facilities! Programs offer a selection of free and fee-based courses and provides a listing of contacts for other opportunities throughout the Sayward area.

Iyengar Yoga will run every Tuesday & Thursday 9AM-10:30 AM & WEDNESDAY @ 6:30PM - 8:00 Teacher is Michelle Nielsen. Please bring your own Yoga Mat. Cost is regular KC rates
Aerobics NEW low impact Wednesday 12:45-1:45 PM This class is designed for those new to an exercise program or have not attended for a while. Friday 9-10AM Classes are taught by Sarah Foreman, registered BCRPA Fitness instructor. Megan Milliken, instructor, will be back this season, when Sarah is off.
Gym Opens for Badminton Tuesday & Thursday evening 6:30- 8PM
Weight Room is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday 9AM -11:30 AM, when the office is open, or when we have programs. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:30-8 PM
POOL PROGRAMS Our new Life guards are NLS Certified. Come & meet Nicole Schrader & Kris Kennedy. Cara Cavanagh is our Bronze Medallion Life guard working toward her NLS. They will be on deck for all pool times.
Aqua fit Wednesday is open to all abilities moderate energy flow class 9AM- 10AM Friday is open to those with limited abilities ( knee, hip, arthritis, limitations) a slower modified class 9AM-10AM Both classes are taught by certified instructor Michelle Nielsen
Parent and Tot is open Monday 9:30AM-10:30AM for Parent and child (5 & under) A social time, no instruction.
NEW Soccer is back Starts October 19 Coach Ron Miller will be coaching soccer on Mondays Ages 3-5 are from 1:45-2:30 Ages 6-12 from 2:45- 3:45 cost is regular $2.00 drop in rates
